--Liner Notes--

Rewind-
My first attempt at nasal synthpop. I may have been emulating The Rentals in addition to lyrical attempts to be They Might Be Giants. My guitar skill was still extremely primitive and I didn't know my scales. The synth was decent enough though and there was some structure. Looking back this was clearly more evolved than other Extravagant End songs, and should've been on that album.

Lika Virus-
A pretty decent early version of novelty country rock a la A Man (which was also left off it's album). Just a few chords but came together well enough.

Hevvy Dub-
Another foray into the highly distorted synth instrumentals I was especially fond of on Euphorium through The Nightfallen. At the very end I started playing the riff from Mr. Stringaling.

Wanchu Bak-
Very much an Extravagant End song. I was going for a very pop sound. Of course I fell too much in love with vocal effects and making weird noises, in this case for a whole song. Fully improvised what few lyrics there were.

Broken Carousel-
A slower song with similar synths to Carousel, which was the song I was most proud of myself for recording at that time. By sticking to just keyboards, I was able to create much better songs than I did when I introduced my unpracticed vocal and guitar skills to the mix.

Psychic Rot-
When I was just getting into the idea of bands and rock music I drew front and back covers for an album, called Hell Demons or something like that. One of the songs I made up for the tracklist was Psychic Rot. Another one was Spelling Errors of A Disembodied Head, and the rest were never used. I didn't think I'd ever record music when I wrote that tracklist, I was just a young kid coming up with cool song names. Anyways, that song basically does that pre-adolescent edgy idea justice. Didn't know how to cut songs short then though.

Sour Salsa-
Left off Extravagant End. Los Churros was on that album too. This was right before I got into Ween and their song about Mexican food. I guess that's why the song "Pollo Asado" appeals to me. I just like songs about mexican food. Particularly instrumentals.

Squiddly Stardust-
This collection is mainly instrumentals because in those days anything I wrote with lyrics went on the album. I didn't have the self-consciousness to second-guess myself. This one is all synths like Broken Carousel but more disjointed and "avant garde" which one can label many of these songs and which I was probably guilty of attempting because I knew it was easier to pull off and I didn't understand how to write good songs.

Wisconsin-
The first rap I ever recorded. Humble beginnings. A purposefully stupid track that was too stupid to put on any release. But here it is. My accent here is a pretty clumsy impression of the character Coach Z from Homestar Runner, who is a clumsy impression of a person from the Midwest.
